What do you do when God calls you to a work that others feel you shouldn’t do? Well, she listened to God and answered the call. Pastor Graham’s immediate response to God was, “I have no money, no building, and no people. How can I plant a ministry?” God’s response to her was, “If you would be obedient, I will bless your obedience.” Sanctuary of Hope Community Church, Inc. was birthed March 31, 2002 under the leadership of Pastor Viola J. Graham. Our first service was held at the Holiday Inn Express in Sanford, FL.
Shortly, thereafter, Pastor Jerome Graham joined her. Together their vision is to focus on kingdom building for our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. They realize that in order to please God, they must allow God to build a ministry that will glorify Him (God) and it must be done God’s way. They also realize that they must lead by example to reach those who are lost. God’s Word states in 2 Timothy 4:2 “Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season: reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine. “ They must watch in all things, endure affliction, do the work of an evangelist, and make full proof of their ministry.
They are looking forward and in expectation to what God is doing in and at Sanctuary of Hope. They understand that it is not about them but all about “Jehovah Jireh” (our Provider).
God has truly blessed them to be married for 33 ½ years with two sons, Phillip and Darwin; two daughters, Veronica and Keyanta; and nine grandchildren, Xamaria, DeJahne, Taliyah, Quentin, Kayla, Mehki, Makayla, JaNoah and ZaKhai.
